Wireless Broadband

A Wireless Broadband connection can be setup easily with the use of a Broadband Router. The setup doesn't require any Internet Service Provider to provide the customer with a service. In actual fact only a Wireless Router connected a Broadband modem is required. These days the wireless router and modem is one item. In the past these were two separate objects. A Wireless Broadband connection is different to that of a Mobile Broadband connection. A Wireless Broadband connection only allows access to a local Internet access point. This access point is usually just a Wireless Router connected to a modem or just a whole complete unit which contains both the router and modem. The normal range for a Wireless Router is 100m, this is with no obstructions. Normally the range is a lot less. The connection allows the user to have access to the Internet within range of the Wireless Router. A Wireless Router is not limited to have connections made by computers, other devices, such as gaming consoles or Wireless Security Cameras can be connected. All connected devices can have access to the Internet at the same time.

Setting up Wireless Broadband is pretty straight forward, as many of the current Wireless Routers have things setup from the beginning and just require the user to input a few key pieces of information. The only really issue these days when it comes to setting a connection up is security issues since it is Wireless and people can access this Wireless network when within range. These days many homes have wireless setup for broadband and have it turned on 24 hours a day, giving them access to the Internet from any part of their home, even outdoors. Leaving it powered on 24 hours a day isn't an issue and most manufacturers of Wireless Routers actually expect them to be left on all day and every day of the year.
